Assia Messaoudi (she/her) is a GTA-based Social Worker and Equity and Inclusion Advisor dedicated to enhancing mental health and social services for communities experiencing marginalization. She holds a Master of Social Work with a Social Justice and Diversity specialization and an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, along with a diploma from George Brown College’s Assaulted Women and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate program.
Since 2018, Assia has worked with Taylor Newberry Consulting in various capacities. In her current role as Equity and Inclusion Advisor, she supports projects by integrating equity and inclusion perspectives throughout the research and evaluation process. This includes reviewing methodologies, analyzing data, and ensuring that findings and recommendations consider broader societal and cultural contexts.
Assia is committed to working closely with communities to address systemic challenges and improve access to services. Her previous experience includes practicum work at Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter and the Violence Against Women Network, Naseeha Youth Helpline, as well as providing virtual short term individual counselling at the Talk It Out Counselling Clinic. Assia’s personal and professional journey reflects her dedication to social justice and systemic change.
