If you had asked us 10 years ago if we ever saw ourselves becoming business owners, the answer probably would have been “no”. But when Andrew and Jason approached us with the idea, it suddenly all made sense; the decision to make TNC our permanent home was an easy one. Andrew and Jason have created something exceptional and it is an honour to continue to nurture it.
There are a few powerful reasons that influenced our decision:
The People: You’ll see it mentioned many times on our website that relationships are at the heart of everything we do at TNC, and that aligns with our own personal values for how we approach life. Over our collective 21 years we have met so many amazing people who are doing good work. We are constantly inspired by our clients who show up for their communities in such meaningful ways and it is so fulfilling to work alongside them. As for the TNC team, not only are they brilliant, they are incredibly supportive, creative, compassionate, and resourceful. They contribute to the workplace culture that we cherish so much at TNC. We have always felt that we can show up as ourselves here and be celebrated for the gifts that we bring.
The Support: TNC is more than just an organization to us. Andrew once described it as “a living, breathing thing with a heart”. Andrew and Jason started that heart beating over 15 years ago and since then, TNC has been with us through many personal highlights in our lives like buying our first homes, getting married, and becoming parents. It’s brought us to communities across North America where we have learned and grown both personally and professionally. Andrew and Jason are extraordinary mentors and when we encounter challenges, we know that we never have to face them alone.
The Opportunity: It was an easy yes because we get to do this together, alongside Andrew and Jason. There is so much mutual respect, kindness, and openness to explore innovative ideas. We get to be creative, to experiment and to promote the wellbeing of our team and the communities that we serve. Our children will witness us engaged in gratifying work and we will be presented with continuing opportunities to learn and grow.
We are so excited to continue this journey and be part of the evolution of TNC.
