Partner: Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre

We are currently working with the Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre (ORCC) to evaluate the implementation and impact of two concurrent projects funded by WAGE. ORCC is currently developing an anti-oppressive guidebook that is intended to be used by service providers providing support to survivors of sexual violence and gender-based violence with a specific focus on finding promising/best practices around applying anti-oppressive approaches to frontline service provision. The second project focuses on offering three alternative approaches to traditional counseling that is rooted in Western ideals. We are working closely with the project team to help ORCC gain a better understanding of how frontline service providers, survivors/service users, and the sector benefit from the application of an anti-oppressive and decolonial approach to service delivery.
