TNC evaluated the Lawson Foundation’s YAENV Fellowship, a climate-focused philanthropic granting initiative supporting youth environmental leaders. Our team designed a longitudinal mixed-methods evaluation that synthesized survey data, multi-stage interviews, and ongoing qualitative insights to understand cohort-wide progress and system-level outcomes. We co-created a Theory of Change with Lawson staff and youth advisors and used it to benchmark changes in leadership capacity, organizational sustainability, and environmental action across the 12-month fellowship. Through clear, aggregated milestone reports, we provided timely strategic insights on program design, climate-wellbeing integration, and the effectiveness of trust-based philanthropic supports. This project reflects our strong track record helping foundations analyze complex climate-related initiatives and communicate collective impact in accessible, actionable ways.
