Youth Action & the Environment (YAENV). (2023-2025).

The Lawson Foundation. TNC evaluated the Lawson Foundation’s YAENV Fellowship, a climate-focused philanthropic granting initiative supporting youth environmental leaders. Our team designed a longitudinal mixed-methods evaluation that synthesized survey data, multi-stage interviews, and ongoing qualitative insights to understand cohort-wide progress and system-level outcomes. Research to Guide Program Development for Young Girls. (2023-2024).

Partner: Canadian Woman’s Foundation (CWF) TNC delivered a research report examining the mental health climate for Two-Spirit, Nonbinary, Trans, and Questioning Girls and Black, Indigenous, and racialized girls in Canada. For this report, TNC conducted focus groups with Indigenous-led and Queer-led youth-serving organizations and held discussions with racialized, Indigenous, and queer youth. The final report,

Evaluation of a Campus Peer Support Pilot Program (2021-2024).

Partner: CMHA National TNC Designed and carried out an evaluation of a newly developed peer support training program for use in five colleges and universities across Canada.  The evaluation focused on the training of students with lived experience, campus-community partnerships, models of peer support delivery and spaces on campus, and outcomes of peer support workers

Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario Youth and Family Engagement Evaluation (2018-2020).

Partner: The Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health.  TNC conducted a large-scale developmental evaluation of Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario mental health initiative, with a specific focus on youth and family engagement activities within the broader initiative. Program Toolkit Development and Evaluation of a Youth Substance Use and Addiction Prevention Program (2019-2021).

Partner: BGC Canada Conducted a case study evaluation with six pilot agencies to inform a national 12-week youth substance use and addiction prevention program. The toolkit followed a strengths-focused, inclusive, trauma informed approach. It was sensitive to diverse identities and experiences and applied the principles of harm reduction. An Evaluation of Brief Services for Children and Youth Mental Health in Dufferin Wellington (2017-2018). 

Partners: CMHA Waterloo-Wellington-Dufferin Evaluated the brief services – short-term, quick access interventions – provided to children and youth at multiple locations in Wellington and Dufferin Counties.  The evaluation focus was on understanding current models of practice compared to other brief service models; pathways in and out of services; service utilization; challenges and barriers; and observed

An Environmental Scan of Children & Youth Mental Health Services in Waterloo Region (2016-2017).

An Evaluation of the Youth Justice Program. (2024).

Partner: Kinark Child and Family Services. Kinark’s Youth Justice Program focuses on providing community-based mental health programming to youth in conflict with the law in York and Simcoe Regions.
